Updated League Information for COVID-19 Impacts

May 8, 2020

Hello PLL Families,

I hope this email finds everyone safe and healthy.

As you may have heard, Little League International has cancelled the Little League World Series and all Regional tournaments. They are, however, encouraging local leagues to find a safe way for kids to get out and play if and when it's deemed safe by their local authorities.

To that end, we are still exploring possibilities of what a 2020 Little League Season could look like for PLL. In our diligence, we're monitoring a myriad of factors:

  • Governor Inslee announced a plan to phase in a return to activities. Sports are included in Phase 3 of that plan and we can potentially, with modifications, begin play once we've entered Phase 3. Moving through each phase is heavily dependent on many metrics and it's likely that dates will change but the best case scenario is that we will enter Phase 3 on June 15.
  • We rely on Edmonds School District fields for our practices and the City of Lynnwood owns Lynndale Park where we play the majority of our games. We will follow the guidance of those entities regarding safety and availability of use of the fields in our determination of when we can start playing.
  • Some of our divisions (Majors and Juniors softball, Intermediate and Seniors baseball) play Interleague games with neighboring leagues in our district. We're checking in with those leagues regarding their seasons and if Interleague play is possible.
  • Safety of game play and if we'll be able to keep our kids and their families safe. Little League is working on, but has yet to release, guidance on how play should be modified. We'll need to evaluate these recommendations and work will likely need to be done to implement some changes.

We also need to know if our players and coaches are available to play. We've put together a quick survey regarding availability for players and ask that you complete the survey by May 15th. Your responses will factor heavily into any decisions that are made.

*Please check your E-mail for survey - sent 5/08/2020.
Or contact us here to resend the link by E-mail

If you are certain your player(s) will not be available and you'd like a refund of your registration fees, please first complete the survey and then send an email to refunds@pacificlittleleague.com. Some families have offered to donate some or all or their registration fees to the league to help cover costs already incurred for the season. If you'd like to donate a portion of your registration fee please indicate that in your email. We will be processing refund requests over the next weeks and we will send you an email confirming when your refund has been processed.

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Stay safe,
