For 2011 there are two Junior teams and no Senior teams.
Pacific 1 Bulldogs- Greg Smeester
Pacific 2 - Clayton Smith
5/15 and 5/22
PACIFIC 1 VS. PACIFIC 2
What a back and forth nail biter this turned out to be, the Bull Dogs scored 8 runs on 10 hits led by Gabe Kerr going 4 for 4, and Gus McGlocklin 2 for 3 with a moon shot 2-run homer, Pac 2 scored
7 runs on 6 hits led by Dylan Herron who went 3 for 3 including a no doubt about it solo shot and 4 Ribbies. A complete team effort led the dogs thru the good and bad. The bottom of the 7th defense
made TWO plays at home to keep it a 1 run victory, Big Kudos to pitcher Charlie McDonald, 1st B Glen Hodges, and catcher Gabe Kerr.
Sunny 60's 5-24-11 Rematch with our largest team defeat of the year-Alderwood- 1 to 13
Scores inning to inning 0-0,4-2,5-2,5-5,5-7,6-7,10-7. Lee Bruemmer started and closed the game with 1 hit ball, and Gus McGlocklin threw 95 pitches between to combine for the victory. We did it the
"HARD" way, giving up 8 walks, 5 errors and 1 hit. Offensively, we got 7 walks, 1 E, and 9 hits, led again by Gabe Kerr 2-4 with 4 RBI's, Ben Zimmerman 2-3, and Glen Hodges knocked in 2. Already
preparing for the rubber match on 5-31-11, should be a good one...
PAC 1 VS. S. EVERETT A's
On our Home turf the Bull Dogs pounded out 16 hits in 5 innings, led by Ben Zimmerman 4-4, scored 4, with 2 RBI's. Glen Hodges 3-3 with 4 RBI's. Gus McGlocklin 2-3 with 2 RBI's. Anthony Smeester
2-3, scored 4, with 3 RBI's. Daniel Jurich 3-4, 3RBI's, scored 2. Gabe Kerr 1-2 and scored 3. Defensively, pitchers allowed 4 hits, 8 walks, 8 K's, and one heck of a catch by Peter McNeill who
doubled up the runner off of 1st base. Dogs 21, A's 4.
PAC 1 VS. MARYSVILLE 1
Our 1st meeting this year seemed to be 2 games in 1... Defensively in four innings we allowed 4 runs on 4 hits, 5 bb's, and 1 error. In the final 3 innings 0 runs, 0 hits 0 bb's, and 1 error. Much
of the credit goes to Lee Bruemmer striking out 4 of his 6 out closing. Offense put together 6 runs on 6 hits led by Ben Zimmerman and Anthony Smeester each goin 2-3 and combined for 4 runs. A good
effort and we played more than half of that game with 8 fielders.. PAC 1 upped its standing to 12-2 tonight and kept in contention to be the league Champion. Bull Dogs 6, Marysville 4
Week of 5/8
PAC 1 VS. MILL CREEK
PAC 1 played a tough opponent tonight! We out hit them 9 hits to 1 and the score ended 6-4, scrappy game... Daniel Jurich smacked a double, Jacob O'Connell and Glen Hodges batted 1000%, and Lee
Bruemmer went 2-3. Charlie McDonald held the pitchers mound securely for 3 innings, and Alex Harden K'd 2 of his 3 outs to record his 1st save.
PAC 1 VS. MARYSVILLE
The Bull Dogs took advantage of 6 errors tonight, along with 8 hits to defeat Marysville 9-3. The pitching of starter Alex Hardan, and closer Gus McGlocklin proved too much for Marysville, as they
recorded 12 strike outs, and allowed only 2 hits. Gage Jackson cracked a HOMER that would have ended up on the West side of Aurora Av. had there not been a building in the way (incidentally, it
took 2 innings to find it). Gabe Kerr got 3 hits and 3 RBI's, and Anthony Smeester scored 3 times. Bull Dogs 9, Marysville 3.
PAC 1 VS. S. EVERETT A's
Another gamed marred in controversy, and tough baseball playing. Pac 1 K'd 11 times, and mustered only 4 hits. We scored 1 of the runs in the top of the 7th on a passed ball by the catcher... Thank
Goodness for the performance of Gus McGlocklin who retired 11 of the last 11 batters he faced in the game. Bull Dogs win a squeaker 3-2.
Week of 5/1: The Bulldogs got thumped against Alderwwod in their 1st meeting of the season 13-1. I still can't put this one to rest, we had double plays, 2 assists
from Gus McGlocklin at Home from center field, that obviously isn't enough for 6 defensive errors. Alderwood had 6 hits, and 4 walks, and defensively threw a one hit game. 10 of their 14 batters
went without a hit... Can't win them all...
The Dogs had another controversial meeting with SE A's on Sat. Lee Bruemmer went 1-1 and scored a run, Ben Zimmerman went 1-3 and scored twice. Defensively, the Bulldogs had two errors, allowed
three walks, which two of them scored... Ben Zimmerman and Gus McGlocklin threw "A NO HITTER". GO FIGURE... Dogs 3, A's 2.
Week of 4/24: In game 1 against the SE Rockies, the Bulldogs scored 13 runs with three extra base hits including a 3-run DINGER from Gus McGlocklin, Lee Bruemmer and
Glen Hodges went 2 for 3, with Charlie Mcdonald and Peter McNeill smacking solid 2 baggers. Alex Hardan threw 1 hit ball in 3 innings, and Jacob did the same in 2 innings, 12-1 final.
Game 2 against the Rockies, Ben Zimmerman got the win allowing 1 run thru 4 innings, Charlie Mac 1 shutout inning and Daniel Jurich no hits with 2k's closed it. Glen Hodges went 2 for 3 with 2
RBI's, and Anthony Smeester smacked a base clearing triple in the 4th inning, Dogs 13-1.
Facing the SE Angels on Sat., a real good game for both teams, Game Ball goes to Gus McGlocklin who pitched another gem... 3 hits 0 earned runs with 11 k's thru 5 innings, and Charlie Mac no hits
while striking out 3 in 2 innings. The Bulldogs managed 7 runs on 6 hits, and 5 walks, Gabe Kerr helping the cause with 2 hits, 2 RBI's and scored twice himself. Pacific 1... 7-3.
Week of 4/17: The Bulldogs went 2-1 this week losing Tuesday night to S Everett A's 4-6. Another solid outing from Alex Harden recording 12 k's in 5 1/3 innings, but
the A's put together 4 straight singles in the 5th and a nice 2 RBI double in the 6th to come from behind. Gabe Kerr got 2hits, and Anthony Smeester 2 RBI's for the Dogs.
Wednesday night in Marysville the bats came alive- 11 runs on 12 hits with winning pitcher Ben Zimmerman leading the way with a 4 hits in 4 attempts, Anthony Smeester went 3 for 5, Peter McNeill
got in the AVG column with 2 hits, and 2 RBI's. Ben and Charlie McDonald put together fine pitching performances. Bulldogs 11, M's 5.
Saturdays' game going into the 5th inning , Pac1 up 3-1 against Pac2, fell behind 3-9 in 1/2 an inning, 5-9 going into the sixth. Pac1 scored 8 in the 6th on 4Hits, 4BB's, and 1 Error. Pac2 scored
3 and had the tying run on 2nd when our closer Lee Bruemmer saved another one. Gus McGlocklin pitched solid ball thru 4 innings, Charlie Mac stopped the rampage in the 5th. Ben Zimmerman gets the
Game-Ball going 2-2 with a Triple, Double, and a great assist to third base from center field in the 3rd inning. Gage Jackson went 2-3 and 3 RBI's, Glen Hodges 2-4 including a 2 out 2 run shot that
drove in what turned out to be the winning runs, 13-12.
The Bulldogs held on to win their home opener against Mill Creek 5-4, allowing 3 runs in the top of the 7th before the final out. Excellent pitching from Jacob
O'Connell who went 5 1/3 innings, allowing only 1 hit, 1 BB, and 7 strikeouts, Jake also got a solid base hit in his 2nd at bat, earning him the Game Ball. Defense was solid, remarkable, was Daniel
Jurich, holding down the hot corner!
Game 2 of the double-header was one I wish you could have seen, Game Ball getter, Gus McGlocklin, 6 1/3 innings, 2hit, 17 strikeout, shutout, kept a tough opponent from getting started. The offense
helped the cause with 9 runs on 9 hits, two hits apiece for Gus, Alex Harden, and Lee Bruemmer went 2 for 2, with 3RBI's. Lee also helped keep the shutout, throwing 3 pitches to get two outs, with
the help of a bang-bang double play from Pete McNeill.
Pacific-1 Bulldogs "finally" got to play our 1st game and earned a victory scoring 12 runs on 13 hits, with 7 of our 10 batters hitting .500 or better!! Gabe Kerr sprayed the field with 4 hits in 4 attempts, with 2 doubles, and scored 3 times. GAME-BALL goes to Alex Harden throwing 4 innings, NO HITS, 10 k's!! Alex also knocked in 4 runs going 2 for 3 at the plate. A pretty well played opening game, go Bulldogs!!
